Liza Tangney’s journey in holistic healing began over 20 years ago when she graduated from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in 1990. She is proud to be a part of a growing alternative health care field. Liza offers both therapeutic equine and people massage services , bringing harmony to both the horse and the rider through non-invasive therapy.
In January 2012, Liza completed a 300 hour Equine Massage Therapy program with Mike Scott at Equine Muscle Massage Therapy in South Carolina. Liza has continued her education with Equine Myofascial Therapy with Sharon Taylor at Equine Manual Therapy via class work and observation in the field. Most recently, Liza attended Introduction to Equine Acupressure & Traditional Chinese Medicine through Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute.
Equine massage therapy and structural based myofascial therapy services offer manipulation of soft tissue to aid in release of stress/strain on muscle tissues and structure, thus allowing the horse a greater freedom of movement. Sessions are provided for horses with common muscular problems that can be caused by trailer-loading, excessive stall time, training and showing. It can also help ease stresses such as head and neck discomfort, hind leg scuffing, sore back and difficulty with lateral movements. This safe, non-invasive technique promotes the general well-being of the horse.
Liza’s training through the years to help the horses’ human companions includes Sport & Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Zero Balance, BioSyncronistics, Meridian Therapy, Bodywork during the Childbearing Year, Oncology Massage, Lymph Drainage Therapy, CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Reiki Jin Kei Do and the Spiritual Path of the Shaman.
In summation, Liza’s diverse interests and passion for life-long learning has shaped her into a well rounded facilitator for healing with the desire to educate others. In your session you can expect in depth communication to determine you and your horse’s exact needs and develop a plan of action to meet that goal.
