Liza has been massaging all of my horses on a regular basis for the last ten months. Her customized approach to all different sizes, shapes and breeds has improved each of them in different ways and they all seem to thoroughly enjoy their sessions with Liza. She takes the time to thoroughly get to know the horses and seeks out their trouble spots. Within a couple sessions we noticed more freedom of movement with their gaits, particularly with our 28 year old Quarter Horse. After seeing how successful she was with all of my horses, I hired her to work on me too!
After a long and hard show season my 6 year old OTTB (Handsome) was having some soundness issues that I just couldn’t pinpoint. No one could tell me for sure if it was stifle, hock, back, withers or any combination of those that was making him move not quite right. I called up Liza who I had heard great things from another friend of mine, and she came down the next weekend to take a look at my horse. She was friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer my silly questions about every movement she did, but most importantly she made my horse feel better!
After just 2 sessions we felt the heat around sore areas move and then disappear all together. Handsome loved getting worked on, and I especially loved seeing and feeling the change in his muscle. I would definitely recommend Liza and her massage skills to anyone who has a horse they ride frequently, or even have her up to work on your pasture pal. Handsome really felt like a million bucks after! !
I am a true believer in the benefit of Equine massage, I have owned horses for over 30 years and I have seen first hand what an added benefit it can be to keep your horsehourse safe, sound and happy. Most owners are used to working closely with their vet or their blacksmith, I would encourage owners to also work closely with their equine massage therapist. When someone else has a complete over all body knowledge of your horse, it is makes is so much easier to stay ahead of any potential problems. The less problems the more saddle time!
My horse had always had issues with adults riding him. I thought it was behavioral. My farrier referred me to Liza. I never thought of massage therapy for him before. However, having her out to work on him revealed some muscular and neurological problems I would have otherwise not known about. Liza was very professional, patient and knowledgeable about the horse’s anatomy and structure. I now realize that my horses problems were most likely pain related rather than behavioral. I would highly recommend Liza if you are in need of an Equine Massage Therapist.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for coming out to the farm recently to work on our Quarter horse Brutus and Cleo our OTTB ( off the track thoroughbred). Cleo’s hindquarters had considerable heat indicative of a very effective massage. When my wife worked her the next day she noticed a marked improvement in her gate and a fluidity that she had struggled to maintain on that lead prior to your visit. Brutus should similar heat in the areas you worked and his improvement was noticed more in his increased flexibility ease of transitions from walk to trot to canter and back down.
On behalf of Brutus, Cleo & Jessie I want to thank you and compliment you on your work. I know that you are relatively new to the horse world but I believe you will have have great success. I would be more than confident in recommending you to any of my Barefoot clients for there equine massage needs.
